As the Vice President, Human Resources – Last Mile, you'll develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals, focusing on organizational effectiveness, learning, development, and talent acquisition and management. This role involves leading a field HR team, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and supporting the Last Mile business unit in executing their strategies. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Lead HR projects and initiatives that align with the company’s strategic goals and drive organizational success.
  • Develop and recommend innovative HR strategies and policies that promote equity, inclusivity, and legal compliance across the Last Mile organization.
  • Stay informed about the latest HR laws and industry best practices to ensure our policies and operations remain compliant with regulations and standards.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and the executive team on HR matters, providing insights that support informed decision-making and drive organizational change initiatives.
  • Influence and support cultural, structural, and process changes to enhance organizational effectiveness and employee management.
  • Drive and manage change initiatives within the organization, offering both strategic advice and practical support to facilitate successful transitions.
  • Provide best practice HR solutions that align with business needs in collaboration with broader HR strategies, ensuring a commercial focus.
  • Oversee labor relations within the business unit, ensuring fair practices and fostering a positive employee relations environment.
  • Mentor and develop team members, enhancing their skills and supporting their career growth within the organization.
  • Establish performance metrics, accountability frameworks, and career development plans

What you’ll need to excel:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 15 years of experience in human resources management experience
  • Strong knowledge of labor relations, union laws, international HR processes, employment legislation, and legal regulations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of organizational development theories and practices. Demonstrated history of increasing responsibility within the HR field.
  • Ability to travel 50-75% to service centers within the region

It’d be great if you also have:

  • 20 years of human resources management experience
  • HR leadership experience for global operations
  • Director level or above HR leadership experience
  • HR management experience in the supply chain, logistics or transportation
  • Ability to effectively engage with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization
