As a Senior Manager, Operations Support at RXO, you’ll create a highly engaged workforce that continuously performs improvement activities. You’ll coach and mentor your team to ensure that all responsibilities are performed in alignment with the company’s values and within the framework of RXO’s Lean Operating System. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Lead/direct all support functions of the distribution center, including site safety and security, administration, quality/continuous improvement, quality management, maintenance and training
- Lead the site’s safety program to ensure all safety procedures comply with company policies, as well as local, state and federal rules and regulations; advise Operations on safety concerns and preventive actions
- Oversee all peak planning and new initiatives developed by the customer
- Provide operations team support to ensure service-level standards and contractual customer obligations are met
- Identify growth opportunities with current customers by promoting enhanced service and/or cost savings to the customer; partner with site leadership in customer visits, conference calls and problem-solving efforts
- Track, record and maintain quality data; monitor operations and quality processes and troubleshoot issues
- Manage warehouse storage expansion/contraction strategy and ensure sufficient space to accommodate inbound and outbound volumes
- Drive cost savings and change management by ensuring all major initiatives are planned, documented, communicated, coordinated and validated to provide uniform execution, team understanding and buy-in
- Communicate with the customer to establish goals and objectives for project teams, scheduling and coordinating resources to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Lead the training team to develop peak strategy, ensure all new hires meet expectations and provide continuous education to existing team members on process improvements and new procedures
What you’ll need to excel:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience
- Experience in lean manufacturing principles
- Proven working experience in project management and problem solving
It’d be great if you also have:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field or equivalent related work or military experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with computerized scanner equipment
- Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment
- Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to coach and mentor in a fast-paced environment
This job requires the ability to:
- Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights
- Stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
- Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
- Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
